This simple application is designed to allow you to quickly assess if you can go surfing on any particular day in the state of New South Wales.
Rather than a forecast, this app provides you with a visual guide of the near-real time wave, wind and tide data in your location.
At a users request 4-day synoptic charts have now been added. The app also now includes a new feature "Is it offshore?", a visual guide as to whether the wind is offshore at any particular break. Very useful if you are travelling and not aware of local conditions.
Although the wave data is limited to only 7 locations from Eden up to Byron Bay, it is particularly useful as it details the swell direction in the top graph and the height and period of the swell in the lower 2 graphs. Even if the buoy is not situated directly in your location it will give you a useful guide.
Get started by going to the location tab and clicking on your location in either the waves and wind sections to check if the conditions are ok to go surfing.
Note One: This app requires an internet connection.
Note Two: As this application depends on functioning buoys off the coast, there maybe times when you are unable to get the near-real time wave data.
